BAGHDAD, Jan 24 - Iran's main armed opposition group, the People's Mujahedeen, accused Tehran on Monday of preparing missile attacks against Iraq in a statement published in Baghdad.
The Iranian regime is "paving the way for air and missile attacks" on Mujahedeen bases, said the statement, a copy of which was sent to AFP.
It based its assertion on a recent interview in the Iranian press by the Iranian intelligence minister, in which he claimed the "people of Iraq" are opposed to the group.
The statement said the Tehran regime always attributed to the "Iraqi people" its own attacks on Mujahedeen targets.
The last such incident was a rocket attack on a Mujahedeen camp on January 16, it said.
The Mujahedeen, which mounts cross-border attacks from Iraqi territory, has been based in Iraq since 1986.
